San Marcos National Fair - Aguascalientes

From: April 18 To May 17
Location: Mexico

During the incredible three-week fair, festival goers can expect all the excitement that accompanies a traditional Mexican extravaganza. The 1828 origin of the festival was a livestock fair but the San Marcos National Fair has evolved into one of Mexico’s best-loved events that now attracts over 250,000 visitors each year. Known as the Fair of all Fairs, the festival features mariachi bands, handicraft markets, bullfights, folk dancing, games, cockfights, fireworks and many other cultural events. This is the perfect opportunity to imbibe in traditional Mexican cuisine and sample some of the regions finest tequilas.  Additionally the event is known to give out a National Poetry Prize and an award for the best traditional dress competition.
