Victory Day - Moscow

This day is a strange mixture of celebration and sadness. It is a celebration of not only the defeat of the Germans in WWII in Berlin and Stalingrad, but also the defeat of the Russian army in Autumn of 1941. Victory Park is overcrowded with mourners bearing flowers for their lost relatives, often wearing old uniforms, singing and dancing. And when darkness falls, fireworks are put on display.
