Mooncake Festival - Singapore

October 03
Location: Singapore

Also known as the Lantern or Mid-Autumn Festival, this celebrates the Chinese overthrow of the Yuan Dynasty. According to tradition the success is attributed to messages that were tucked into mooncakes. They celebrate by sharing a mooncake with a neighbor and lighting lanterns all around the city. The lanterns are often in shapes of fish or butterflies or other animals. In China town you will find bonsai competitions and tea making demonstrations. It will definitely make for a nice night out in Singapore, one that you won’t forget!
