Itinerary Queen's Day - Amsterdam
April 30 ![]() The streets of Amsterdam are filled with orange wearing, flag flying, concert going, junk buying celebrators who've gathered for the annual festival of Queen Beatrix's birthday. To be in this notoriously rambunctious city during the height of the party season is a sight to behold. Brace yourself for huge crowds, loud music, incredible fireworks and a fairground erected at the back door of the palace. Millions congregate in the heart of the city on April 29th for what is known as Queen's Night or KoninginneNach. This vibrant party kicks off the events for the following national holiday which is filled with parades, swap meets and boats with live bands that fill the canals as fireworks explode into the sky. The main areas of activity in Amsterdam are Dam, Leidsestraat, Rokin and Spui. Vondelpark caters for children and bands play on Prinsengracht and Rembrandtsplein. Links
