Burning Man - Black Rock Desert Nevada

What can really be written about a festival like Burning Man?  It's nearly impossible to capture the anomaly of a functioning city created and torn down in a week.  Or the artistic creations that are torched at the end of the event.  Or even the scene of thousands of festivals-goers wandering around in costume, naked or in sleep deprived haze.  The festival is constantly evolving which challenges both the artist and campers to bring the antics to a new level. This years 2008 art theme will be "American Dream", but the festival ethos of dedication to self-expression, self-reliance, and art as the center of community remains the same.  If you have not experienced the magic of Burning Man, it may be time to pack your clothes (or not) and head to the desert for this voyeuristic extravaganza!
