From: July 19 - 8:00am To July 28 - 5:00pm  In 2008, the Ghent Festival celebrates its 165th anniversary. Consisting of four separate festivals going on simultaneously in the city center, the inhabitants of Ghent Belgium welcome the medieval festivities. For ten days, festivalgoers sing, dance, eat and drink, enjoy the theater, live music (pop, folk, rock, jazz and hip hop) and master puppeteers. The Blue Note Festival (jazz), the International Street Theater Festival, the International Puppet Buskers Festival and the 10th anniversary edition of the dance festival 10 Days Off make for a festival that truly has no equal. Last year over 1.5 million people attended the Ghent Festival, making it the largest open-air festival in Europe. And besides, who needs another excuse to have a Belgium Waffle?
