Harbin Ice Festival - Harbin Heilongjiang Province

From: January 05 -  8:00am To March 05 - 5:00pm
Location: China

Since 1963, China's Harbin Ice Festival has dazzled the hundreds of thousands of spectators who brave the freezing temperatures to visit the exquisite world of frozen water, brilliant lights and synchronized music.  Derived from the ancient tradition of Ice Lanterns, today's interpretation has expanded to become China's most attend festivals. The prestige of the festival has lured contributing artists from all over the world and therefore culturally reflected in the types of works on display.  These artist come not only to compete, but to demonstrate their talent in the incredible art of ice sculpting.  The festival's best collections of ice artworks are exhibited in three main places: the Sun Island Park, Harbin Ice and Snow World, and Zhaolin Park.  Festival goers can enter each with a small admission fee.

Dress warm, bring your cameras (though on a cold night digital ones often freeze up) and be prepared to enter a magical world of sculpted ice!
