Candlemas Festival - Tlacotalpan, Veracruz

Día de la Candelaria, the Candlemas Festival is celebrated throughout Mexico with colorful parades, dances, bullfights and traditional cultural festivities. Candlemas is an old Christian festival that commemorates the midpoint of winter and the completion of the Christmas activities. The festival is characterized by candle-lite processions to the local churches for services after which there are big parties with family, friends and loved ones.
