Feast of John the Baptist - Caracas

From: June 23 To June 25
Location: Venezuela

If you looking for a wild and crazy party, the Feast of John the Baptist is the place to be. The festival itself lasts 3 days, Including an obligatory mass on the middle day, June 24th, only to be followed with more dancing, singing and drumming. Various towns around Caracas (including Guarenas, Guatire, Santa Lucía, Ocumare del Tuy and especially towns in the region of Miranda known as Barlovento) throughout the month of June are filled with African drumming and wild dancing, with a reputation for people falling down in trace-like states and participating in divination.
