New Years Eve – Santo Domingo

December 31
Location: Dominican Republic

Every year natives and people from all over the world gather at the famed oceanfront boulevard, or El Malecon, in Santo Domingo. With their loud and movin’ Merengue bands, you are sure to find more singing, dancing, and drinking that you can handle. At midnight the fireworks light up the sky, but the party never stops till the sun comes up. Oh, and beware of pick-pockets. (as those who have had too much to drink are the easiest targets!)
