At Chabash Festival – Osh Oblast

As a local proverb says, “The horses are the wings of the Kyrgyz.” Kyrgyz horses have a long tradition in the country that, during the Soviet era saw a lot of crossbreeding, is now regaining strength for the purebred horses native to the land. You will see long distance horse races, traditional Kyrgyz horse games, craft exhibits, and concerts throughout the weekend and a beautiful tradition of handcrafts that will leave you seeing a whole other side of central asia that is often overlooked.
