Jakarta Anniversary Festival

To celebrate the independence of Jakarta, the city is in joyous spirits for an entire month. Mr. and Miss Jakarta are chosen and the city is transformed into a glittering light fest. Musical performances, poem readings, theatre and dance will be held in the Jakarta Art Building in the heart of downtown. Ondel Ondel, Jakarta’s large signatory figure is displayed through puppet shows through the city and is aimed at preserving the culture. Fireworks, parades, traditional foods and music will abound so be prepared for a deep immersion into Indonesia!

 In 2010 they will feature over 60 events  focusing on culture,the environment, and service to the city - don't miss out!
