National Day - Manama

In 2000 the king of Bahrain imposed incredible political reform including the creation of a bi-cameral parliament and embracing democracy. This two day celebration is not only to show appreciation to the king for these far-reaching effects but also its independence from Britain in 1971.  The capital, among all the other cities and towns of this small country, is lit with dazzling fireworks, laser light shows, carnivals, parades, speeches and concerts.
