Festival Details Festivals by Name Glastonbury Festival - Somerset
From: June 22 To June 26 ![]() What can be said about one of the years biggest music events other then it totally rocks! The huge success of England's very own "Woodstock" means that getting tickets is no easy venture though. Festival goers must preregister and fight for tickets that generally vanish within the first couple hours. Since 1970 farmer and creator Michael Eavis has ensured that the Glastonbury Festival remain at the forefront of global, political and environmental causes. It's a festival with a conscience and while it's grown to monumental size notoriety, the theme of awareness still exists with the festival boasting of a high recycle rate, massive compost collection and millions of dollars of donations accumulated for international causes. Loyal attendees have come back year after year despite torrential downpours, fires, and crowded campsites. Camping facilities range from simple tents, to tipi's, to luxury accommodations including a helicopter transportation in and out of the festival grounds. If you missed Woodstock here's your chance to be part of a community of music lovers surrounded by the beauties of the English countryside. Links |
