Aalsmeer Flower Festival

Just 8 miles southwest of Amsterdam, on the Ring Canal and Westeinder Lake, a parade of extraordinary beauty takes place in early September each year. The Aalsmeer Flower Festival and Parade commences at the height of the botanical season in a region famed for it's exquisite flowers. The long stream of flower-decorated floats parading through town is the result of many local committees who contribute to creating the colorful procession of over a million creatively arranged flowers. This festival is the ultimate showcase of Dutch floriculture and artistry.
