Remembrance Day- Amsterdam

From: May 04, 8:00pm - 8:02pm
Location: Netherlands

Every year on May 4th at 8:00pm trains and trams stop, buses come to a halt and people gather in their respective town squares to stand together in remembrance of those lost in World Wad II or any war or peace operation since.  A two minute period of silence marks the National Holiday.  In Amsterdam the people congregated in Dam Square are addressed by the Prime Minister with Queen Beatrix presiding over the event.
