From: January 05 - 8:00am To January 26 - 5:00pm It's been thirty years since the genesis of the Sydney Festival and anyone in attendance can testify that it has become the cities largest and most anticipated cultural event of the year. With an outstanding program of nearly 80 events involving over of 500 contributing artists (both local and international) the art of dance, theater, music and visual arts are well represented. Over a course of three weeks, these shows are exhibited in cities main venues including Sydney Theater, Carriage Works, City Recital Hall and venues at the Sydney Opera House. Be there for the massive festival kick off known as the "Festival First Night" which draws around 200,000 festival goers. It's free and a perfect way to get involved in the festivities. By the end of the event around a million men, women and children will have taken part in the Sydney Festival...if you are in town, this is not something to miss!
